Privacy policy

The short version

MyVanPal has no account, no server and no tracking. Everything you record (your vehicle, its history, your photos and your documents) is stored on your iPhone and is never sent to us. We cannot see your logbook, and we do not want to.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter stays in the app’s own storage on your device: your vehicle details and dimensions, your servicing and repair history, your due dates, trips, checklists and notes, and any photo, invoice or document you attach.

There is no MyVanPal server. The app does not upload your logbook anywhere, and it works with no connection at all: in an underground car park, in a valley, in airplane mode.

What we collect

Nothing. We do not ask for your name, your email address or your phone number. We do not build a profile, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we have nothing to sell to anyone, because none of your data ever reaches us.

Backups and exports

You can export a backup of your logbook, or a PDF of it, to keep it or to hand it to someone else. Those files are created by you, on your device, and they go wherever you send them: Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop, email. Once a file leaves the app it is covered by the terms of whatever service you send it to, not by this policy.

If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or to a computer, your MyVanPal data is included in that backup, like any other app’s data. Apple handles those backups under Apple’s own terms, and we have no access to them.

Purchases

MyVanPal Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment and the subscription: we never see your card details or your billing address. What we receive from Apple is aggregated sales reporting that does not identify you.

Permissions the app asks for

The app asks for access to your camera or your photo library only when you choose to attach a photo or a document to an entry, and it uses that access for nothing else. You can refuse, and you can change your mind later in iOS Settings.

This website

This site is a plain static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and embeds no trackers. Our host keeps standard technical server logs, including IP addresses, to deliver the site and keep it secure; we do not use them to identify visitors.

Your rights

Swiss data protection law and the GDPR give you rights over your personal data: access, correction, deletion and portability. In practice we hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose or erase. Your own data stays in your hands: you can edit or delete any entry in the app, export the whole logbook whenever you want, and remove everything by deleting the app. If you believe we hold something about you, write to hello@aventive.ch.

Children

MyVanPal is a tool for vehicle owners. It is not directed at children and it does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
